Subject: BowlTrolley Download - Workaround (FortuneCity changes system setup!)

I just noticed that the BowlTrolley upload I posted yesterday is not working properly. The URL's are correct, but FortuneCity has started to redirect hits on files other than HTML on a special page. This obviously still does not work perfect. I tried to set the URL on Renderosity to a HTML page, allowing the download, but Renderosity does not accept URLs to HTML. I already mailed the admins of Renderosity about this issue in advance, but until today I did not get any reaction. The only workaround presently is to follow the Sponsor link, go to Downloads page and get the file there. Sorry for this inconvenience. I checked another members entry, which is linked to FortuneCity (Schnaps). It's the same problem. If you have your files on FortuneCity, check if your links still are working. wolfdd

I checked mine, I tried about 6 times, every time I got a "Servers too busy, try again later" This isn't going to cut it, I emailed them and told them if they don't fix it I'm going to close my site, and they are going to loose the advertising. All my Free Stuff is mirrored on another site that doesn't allow direct linking anyway, so the items there were really just a convienence for Renderosity members.

The links to FortuneCity were OK again when I Checked them some minutes ago. I hope this will continue... Jim, this`'Server busy' problem at Homestead lasts since some weeks. At very crowded times it takes 5 to 10 tries until the download starts. However the downlads then are really fast. In my eyes this still is better than downloading from Angelfire.com, where most downloads drop speed after some seconds and in most cases fail. wolfdd

wolfdd- Yes, it seems like it is back to working about half the time. If I get a intresting answer from them to my email I'll post it.
