Subject: Poser 5 Refraction Material Setting- How do you use it?

I've tried giving it a value on a transparent object, but it doesn't appear to do anything. Anyone any ideas or links?

Check out the room's help. It has an entry for the refraction node with step by step instructions.

Try this material as a start.

I have a refraction tutorial which will probably appear in the next issue of Renderosity Magazine, along with sample files and a short video. But basically the refraction node creates its own illusion of transparency, so it usually works best if you don't combine the two. Besides, using both on the same material can really slow down the render.

Thanks for the help, I'm trying to get a magnifying glass effect through a glass object but whatever I try, I'm getting a white fuzz. I'll try and have another go sometime this weekend.

Make sure you have "Raytracing On" checked in the render settings. Also, did you already try the example glass materials that come with Poser?
