Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 09 3:46 am)
Elgyfu, I know the feeling L I was loading a lot of old PZ3's yesterday and flattening them just for the fun of it :o) Some turned out better than others, of course, but ... it's just so much FUN!

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
That's really cute! I'm glad to see so many people enjoying making Z-toon pictures...just hope the anti-cute people don't start making us put warnings on those images. ;) I never understood that...why do we need "cute alerts" for Koshini pictures that are suitable for all audiences? Of course if we had boob alerts, every pic would require a warning. :) Thanks, take care. SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.
I think though, that this is a different trend... When you get a new model, you've done just that... bought ANOTHER model (no offense to ANY model creator, I have almost every human(oid) figure that Daz has sold). With Z-toon, you've done something... Posting a pic with this method isn't saying "look what I bought/downloaded", it's saying "look what I DID... look what I created." People are making new art, not just showing off their latest purchase.
I for one am a huge fan of this technique. Because I am involved in commercial and fine art illustration, I know that this style of rendering is much more "salable" than photo-realism renders. Not knocking Photo-Realism, but if you want to make it really salable, turn it into retro black-and-white photography. People then think your are an artsy retro photographer! There is so much 3D in movies and TV today that the technique itself is not considered "fine art", even though it really does take a lot of technical and creative skill. Since I like making a living from art illustration, I find Z-Toons to be one of the best new ideas for commercial illustration work using Poser.

Anyway, here is a quickie featuring Koshini (sorry I can't remember who made the Lara texture), the columns and Anubis are from Anton's lovely Treasures of Egypt set, the background is adapted from PoserWorlds' super Egypt palace and the gun is by Questor. The stupid idea is all mine!!!
