This is so weird! I've been toying with the idea of changing to NT, because my system is practically a graphics station. I just got off Microsoft's site, trying to get some info. It didn't help much. I have 98. Anyone who's changed over to NT from 98? If so, what did you have to change or upgrade or get patches for. Was it a problem? How does it effect Poser? Did it improve it at all? I love the program,but... Any and all help is greatly appreciated. By the way, I checked 2000 out, NT sounds better to me. I hope this post is allowable here.

I ran a dual-boot NT4/Win98 system up until a few months ago when I switched to a dual-boot Win98/2K. Mostly I ran MAX in NT and Poser in Windoze and had no trouble at all. I don't remember patching anything - although I did have to get new drivers for my modem and old graphics tablet. Win2K has proved to be pretty damn' stable (and it's exactly what Win9x should have been in the first place dammit!). Again, I needed a new driver for my modem and it really didn't like my CD-burning s/ware but that's been sorted with the latest 2K version of the s/ware. In fact, I'm contemplating switching to Win2K only Paul

In my experience, Poser is a lot more stable under Win2k. I never get those weird .obj related crashes. Win2K does need more ram though. And make sure (this is true for NT as well) that all your hardware is compatible, and has drivers etc. Also, Win2k is somewhat iffy for games (and NT is abysmal, if that's a concern)

Posr runs under all 3. I've had all 3 and used it under all. I had some problems with w2k. basically it erased all the files in its own window directory. As for NT, supplies are limted meaning its getting harder and harder to actually get a boxed version. Poser doesn't care really what platform its on. There's nothing win98/95 specific. The only problems I did have were with the file type loaders. When I installed w2k, I lost the ability to load PSD files in Poser. Switching back to win98 gained the PSD but lost gif support. Odd but true.
