Give me the item name so I can test the items origin. .ez doesn't mean it's being kept here at Renderosity, nor is it a file extension. I believe it's a way of masking the file origin, not truly sure. AS

Hi Agent Smith, just on a whim when the download window popped up I hit 'open this file now', and it let me see what was in the zip file, and I just copied it to a folder, then checked to see if it was there, and it was...but I have to say it's a 'round about way of downloading a file, I believe your assessment that it is to hide a file's origin is correct...thanks

Okay, another file download that doesn't specify a zip file...it doesn't 'save' like a zip, just comes up 'all files' instead of 'winzip'. These I have to use the 'open this file now' and doesn't give me the option to save it in a specific folder, it goes somewhere on the harddrive, which requires me to do a search, and even then it may not show up... so how do I download these types of files? Please, please, someone explain....:(

Can maybe only explain if you tell me what file it is you're dealing with, otherwise I'm at a complete loss. AS

Sorry, I didn't think about the id...it was a freestuff file download...I've decided to just ignore any files that come up that way in the future, if the file in freestuff isn't going to be easy to download then I don't need it...thanks anyway...:]

Zhann... I've heard that Netscape sometimes have troubles that results in .ez files. It is indeed a Rosity matter. Look at the top of this very page: http://www.renderosity.com/messages**.ez**?ForumID=12357&Form.ShowMessage=1334457&Reply=1336075#8 See? When you click the "download" button in FreeStuff, Rosity redirects you to the file, an eventhough it's stored physically somewhere else, it goes thru some (unknown to me) script or something that occasionally slaps the .ez suffix on the file. It is actually still a zip, just rename it from .ez to .zip afaik should work. It's not anything anybody does to "mask" something.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Recently I went to the FreeStuff page for Poser just to see what's new and exciting, and two items caught my fancy, so I decided to download them, on the first item, the little download window popped up and said to effect 'you are downloading...XXXXXX.zip (565KB)' and asked where I want to save it, I browsed to the folder and the file type bar read 'Winzip". So that's cool... On the second item the little dl window popped up and said to effect '...nload.ez?field=xxx&key=xxxxx(495KB)', the x's being numbers, so I browse to where I'm going to save it and the file type reads 'AllFiles' and I can't save it.. Now this has happened recently to other files in freestuff that I've tried to download, I tried several different freestuff areas, and I run into these weird downloads where nothing happens...it seems to happen only with files stored here on Renderosity... So, can someone explain what it means? what type of files are for download here that aren't .zip, or .sit? And if there is a way to download them, how? I'm curious...
