Came across a really tame Pelican in a wildlife park, so I was able to get in very close for an unusual shot. Hope this qualifies as "abstract" -- Mark

I don't know if it qualifies as abstract, but it does qualify as "FREAKING SCARY" in my book. That's probably the most disturbing shot I've seen on this website. Way to go!! :) -=>Donald

Donald is right... "freaking scary". Really a unique shot! Bravo!

Great closeup! I do have to agree that it is quite freaky :) Shannon

Thanks for the comments. Here's an even stranger crop of the same bird. (It's part of the bill if you can't guess) -- Mark

Awww.....well broken down into closeups he's rather lumpy and bumpy looking...but taken as a whole he's quite the cutie if you ask me....

I am, therefore I create.......

LOL Yes, not a classical beauty by any means, but a winning personality. Other than ducks in the park or pigeons, it's the first time I've ever had to worry about the bird getting TOO CLOSE to photograph. The lens I was using has a 60cm minimum focusing distance, so I found myself keeping edging backwards. -- Mark
