Subject: Questions: Poser and Cinema 4D

I'm thinking about buying Cinema 4D as a modeling and renderprogram because the beginner's version is not too expensive. I need a Prg for morph targets and I want a good renderer. Bryce renders only those sharp raytracing shadows and in Poser the postioning of props is crude (IMO). Has anyone experience how Cinema and Poser work together? I mean can I import Poser models (e.g. as obj's) and use Poser textures, too? How easy is it to make morph targets in C4D? Ralph

Yes but theres a few things to take into account you can only make morphs for the P4 woman and mans head (also zygotes NYw and vikki) and any of your own models no idea why body morphs don't work.......also if you get SE or Go the textures don't work quite right....I have a tute to fix this here http://the-internet-eye.com/HOWTO/1999/ptoc4dtut/default.htm now if your buying the V6 of XL the morphs problem still stands but they texture fantastic and the modeling is fantastic.you can find a texture tute for XL on the above site and a few other cinema tutes and reviews.........Steve

Thanx for the fast reply. I took a quick look to your tut. It seems to be a bit uncomfortable using Cinema and Poser, so I am still not sure if I should buy it. Ralph

which one are you thinking of Ralph GO SE or XL if its the latter its all fixed but either way play with the demo first...that goes for any app..........Steve

I thought beginning with GO would be a good idea and later upgrading. XL right now is too expensive for me. But you are right, I will get the demo first (Maxon has it on their site I guess). Ralph
