Well I tried my first Metastream file on the web.Exported from Poser, no problems, inserted file in my web page creator, tested okay, loaded files to web site, uploaded with no problem, tried to open with my browser and it failed. Mucho tanks, Spanfarkle, <;)>

  1. Do you mean MTS 2 or MTS 3? 2. If it's MTS 3, do you have a legit broadcast key? (Yhe bit you PAY for!) It will work fine on the development machine running from a file, but if the client and server IP addresses are different, that's when it's payday for MetaStream Inc.

No, I mean MTS2, the one Meta threw in with all their app's.Poser,Bryce,RD5,Carrara,Canoma. Geez, talk about a company blowing it in order to turn a profit. They had it all, the apps, the system, loyal users, practically everything. Now I need to purchase a broadcast key?Talking about going for the gold and selling your soul to get it.When I was first checking out 3D app's, the one thing that enticed me about Meta was Metastreaming. Now I need to purchase something more?AGAIN? Sorry, but I am going to remove the SUCKER sticker from my forehead!

Ok I know the answer to that one. The local copy works because MTS installation associated the MTS file type with the player code. The server has to do something similar to ensure that the right HTTP "Content-type: " string appears in the response header. I think it's "application/x-metastream" or something like that. Without the header, or worse, with the wrong one, the browser gets confused. If your ISP doesn't respond when you ask them to add the MIME-type to their WWW server, try someone else. It's no big deal for them to do this for you. P.S. MetaStream 3 is much more complex and designed for big commercial sites. Think of 2 as MetaStream Lite, and compare them like Carrara and Maya or 3DS MAX
