The author is looking for images for the books color insert and cd gallery.Regards Mike Moir Mike delaflor wrote the following: greetings fellow carrara artists, the new carrara studio 3 book is going to the publisher in about 3 weeks! so i need you to send me your best, most amazing and impressive carrara art and animations right away! there is more at stake here then just the carrara book. at stake is the pride of the carrara studio community. this new book, which will be distributed through out the US and other countries by charles river media, will not only be a representation of what carrara studio can do, but what we as carrara studio artists can do. wouldn't you like to see your 3D art printed in full color in a book that will be seen by thousands of people? so come on, stop making excuses and send me your carrara art! there are 2 places that carrara art will be presented in the new carrara studio 3 book, the color gallery in the book, and the user gallery in the CD-ROM. if i dont get enough art the publisher will not print a color insert. that would be very sad. art for the color insert must be 300 dpi art for the CD-ROM must be 72 dpi. here are the rules for submitting your art to me. it is important that you carefully follow these rules, if you don't you may be overlooked. 1)email 3 to 5 of your best images, as 72 dpi JPG thumbnails no larger than 640x480, to mike@delaflor.com with the subject line C3 BOOK ART. DO NOT email my yahoo account or reply to this post. DO NOT email me hi-res images - just yet. 2)all art must have some carrara part. for example, it could have been rendered in carrara but modeled in another program or visa-versa. 3)carrara 1, carrara 2 and carrara 3 art is eligable. 4) you must own the copyright to the art because you will be asked to sign a release. 5)if you want to submit an animation for the CD-ROM please send me a short clip or point me to a URL where i can see it. 6)deadline is the week of august 11. I'd do this except none of my images are copyrighted...

Why do you say that your work is not copyrighted? Do you mean you haven't registered a copyright, or is this a work derived from another persons work? While registration has some advantages, generally there's no need to register a work of art that you have created on your own for it to have copyright protection. Work derived from another's work is a different matter. You might want to look at discussion forums dealing with copyright issues.

Any work that you create , you have the copyright to . If it was done for an employer or a client then they also share in the copyright to . As a courtesy you can get the clients okay to use the piece of art ,but I think you still have the copyright to that piece of art. These are just my thoughts on the matter, if someone in the know is reading this, please let us know the facts. Mike Moir
