As previously threatened I've now uploaded the outfit for my maid/waitress to Free Stuff. It doesn't include the dress/skirt/blouse, you should use the standard Poser clothes. It does include apron and so on, plus a tray, bottle and glass. Enjoy.

Now that is excellent Maz, really superb work - and I like the sketch-render setting you've used. It looks very distinctive Paul

Basically, I'm just too lazy to fiddle around getting renders to look right so I always go for cartoon with line mode. That way it's dead easy.

You know, I don't think I've ever tried that mode? (Since I do 99% of my rendering in Bryce). I'll have to give it a go :) Paul

Maz, How did you get the colors in cartoon w/line mode so bright? When I try it, they always look 'washed out' and resemble members of a vampire tribe. Is it touched up with an image editor? Thanks, L.

Don't know I'm afraid. I just clicked on that mode and there it was! There was no touching up at all. There is a slight improvement when I move the image from Poser into my graphics program (Phototouch) but I only do that so as to convert to jpg format and I certainly didn't do anything to enhance it. Maybe my lights are set up differently, but again that's not intentional. Does anybody else have this problem? Equally does anybody else not have this problem?

Just a thought: I do have a 19" screen in 1152 x 864 mode which certainly makes the images look crisp, but I wouldn't have thought that would have any effect on the perceived colours, especially as you are obviously seeing my image perfectly well on your screen. I also used antialias for a better image, but again that doesn't affect the colours.

Hi Folks! Maz, these are fantastic!! I especially like that they are standalone objects--my Runtime folder is starting to get bloated. That tremendous roar of applause you just heard is from all the artists over at Renderotica: you've unleashed a monster!! Y'all can expect to see a lot more entries involving French maids in the galleries from now on. One observation/question, if I may: can the cross-section spline for the aprons be altered into a slightly convex path so that they follow the curve on the skirt or dress and rest naturally on them? Perhaps someone can take up the challenge and build on your great work with a curving apron. I may even try to do one myself if someone is willing to host it, since I'll have to redesign my website to accommodate posting objects for visitors to download. Peter (Dr Zik)

Thanks for the accolade. I have slightly curved the top of the apron where I thought it most needed it, but the bulk of it is certainly flat. I found that with a bit of adjusting of the X rotation knob I could usually get it to fit OK. However, I'll see if I can do one that's a bit more curved. Watch this space.
