Just a small preview of the upcoming Hoplite for M3 from M&M Productions. Shown here with only a shield, spear and helmet and even though it was common practice for the best among the warriors to go into battle like this, rest assured that he will come with much more! This pack will span a period from the Archaic to the Hellenistic with varieties in armor, helmets, etc. all hi-detail meshes and textures recreatd from museum pieces. The Hoplite Project is the first in a series of Greek-themed/Classic Age products for the Millenium people. As a Greek, I just couldn't resist, especially with M3 I can finally achieve something that was much more difficult with M2 - that is to recreate the Greek ideal classical beauty for the male both in face and body. He already looks so well-sculpted!

After the "Corinthian" helmet shown above, (still a WIP and therefore without the crest) this one features the "Pilos" cap used widely in the Peloponnesean Wars era.

This is going to be interesting!! Now that I am in the DAZ club, I am so looking forward to Michael 3 and items just for him! :)

Life Requires Assembly and we all know how THAT goes!

Looks fantastic!! I don't know whether you are already planning this or not, but some armour similar to this would be great! :-)

Mmmmm - now thats looking excellent ! What references did you use for the equipment - Peter Connelly ? He's done some excellent illustrations on what ancient warriors really wore and used - not what Hollywood would like us think they did. I know you said Mike 3...but will it also work with poor ol Mike 2 ?

Beautiful work as always! Aside from the excellent modeling and the wonderfully realistic textures, what really keeps me enthralled about your work is the historical research and accuracy that goes into your products. Cheers! M

Thanks for you comments everybody :) Moe, I'm a history buff so it's a pleasure to research things thoroughly! sithgoblin and freyfaxi, the project will have expansions that will covers pretty much everything so don't worry. There will be both Linothorax and the "muscled" breastplates. As for my references... I live 20 minutes from the Archeological Museum of Thessaloniki and less than an hour from King Fillipos II (Alexander the Great's father) tomb. Although Connelly is a valuable resource always, here in Greece we also have some excellent illustrators who have recreated all the findings. Sadly though an M2 conversion will be probably impossible as the basic figures are SO different. So it will be for M3. I think M3 is perfect for the Greek ideal body.

Excellent. I'm glad to see some of the other time periods and armor/weapons styles coming out! I really can't get enough of this stuff.
