I've done a lot of experimenting with the cartoon display mode......I think it works well. The trick is to control the shadows by changing the light placement. You can really minimize and almost remove the shadows if you want.It is also possible to achieve an outline effect. This example shows some shadows but the colors have been enhanced by using the lighting combined with setting the object colors to values stronger than you normally would. The colors in cartoon mode tend to be washed out so you have to be more extreme in the colors and saturation you use. Krel

Given that Poser can render like this it's only one step away from being able to save these things as vector images; and thus Flash files or animations. Something Poser 5 will hopefully be able to do.
