Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 6:22 pm)
No version of Poser utilises the graphics card at all, annoyingly. So that won't make any difference to Poser, but adding more memory would, depending also on your processor speed. As far as P5 is concerned, certainly, the bigger the better :)

For Poser 5, faster cpu, more memory. Not much is gained from the video card at all.
C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the
foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg
off.

Neither P4 nor P5 uses hardware acceleration, but Daz Studio when it does come out will use OpenGL. All the major 3d apps use OpenGL. So if you are planning for a versatile system that will take you further a good video card might not be a bad thing. Plus with XP you can play all those cool video hardware intensive games :-)

I have Poser 4/Pro Pack and Poser 5. I am thinking about getting a new video card for gaming purposes. 1) Will a new video card, such as a GeForce FX 5900Ultra 256MB make any difference in using the programs? 2) Does Poser care about video speed? 3) Does Poser care about video memory? 4) On a side note, I have 1GB of DDR, will adding more make any difference? Using Windows XP.
