Subject: "The Vue d'Esprit Book" cancelled?

Does anyone have any news about this book by Richard Schrand? I pre-ordered it about a month ago from Amazon; it had a release date of Sept or Oct, I think. Today I got an email from Amazon saying the release has been cancelled. Anyone know what the problem is? Will it be available some time in the future? Thanks.

Not cancelled, but reborn. There's a change of publishers and also, my understanding is that the planned book will now have more materials for moderate to advanced users as well. Rick is hard at work on the book. Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software

That's good news! Amazon's message simply said that it was cancelled... is the title changing also?

Whew! Thanks, Lynn. Any approximate on release date?

Amazon :( I pre-ordered Bloodsong's Poser book, according to Amazon UK it was published on June 26th and will be shipped in the week of April 20th 2004, a friend of mine ordered and was billed in Dutch Guilders a few weeks ago, when he called Amazon UK and told them that even in the U.K. they should know by now that the Dutch Guilder and a dozen other European currencies had been replaced by the Euro 18 months ago, a rather po'd Amazon rep told him that he shouldn't order anything if he couldn't affort the books and threw down the phone.

I know a guy who writes for O'Reilly. His book was up on Amazon with a ship date before he was finished with the book. Neither he or O'Reilly had told Amazon when the book would be done. My guess is Amazon does this in order to capture all pre-orders. Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software
