Terraform should do either of these but my time is limited so I haven't been able to check it - try your luck!! http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/terraform/terraform-0.9.0.tar.gz?use_mirror=unc About terraform: http://terraform.sourceforge.net/index.html also might have something here http://www.tnris.state.tx.us/gistools/mapviewers.htm I'm sure MicroDem will do xyz's but the program is a little confusing if you're not used to dealing with this stuff. I have another thread in here somewhere about using MicroDem for lasooing areas of the world etc. Some other useful links are in there. After installng MicroDem hit the In-Out button on top and then hit the import button in the data manipulation bar - you'll get it after that. Good luck! Bot

I'm wondering if someone with a bit more experience can help me here. I tried using some dems from here:
http://edcftp.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/DEM/250/A/
and after I gave them a .dem file extension there was no problem getting them into Vue.
I have some Australian dem files with an .xyz and .grd file extensions and I can't get them to import into Vue. (Just changing the ext. doesn't work.) Like the files from the above link they are an ascii format clearly indicating point positions in 3d.
Can anyone offer some helpful info for converting them to a useful format?
