I tried this, but it doesn't seem to work as I'd expected: You can either drag the magnet in the hierarchy editor window, or go via Object > Properties (CTRL-I). You need to reparent both the mag base and the mag zone; the magnet itself will come with the base. But as I say, once I'd done that, the magnet still affected the figure and not the clothes. It may be one of Poser's amusing little bugs, or maybe I just misunderstood the nature of magnets. Unless someone brighter than me turns up a better answer, you may have to recreate the magnet... sorry. :(
Using Poser 4.0.3.126 on a PC. I was very surprised to hear that you could not apply a mag made on a character to a clothing item (I assume the item is a conforming figure, and that it contains the same relivent body part as the character). I tried the experiment my self, morphing one of Posette's breasts with a magnet. I then saved the magnet, loaded and conformed the Halter Top Dress, then with the dress selected applied the magnet. It worked fine on the dress, no problems! I don't doubt that there is a problem, as two of you have now experienced it, but it seems very strange and unexpected. What Poser version are you using? What was the character? And what was the clothing item? What was the body part involved? Did the mag target more than one body part? Have you tried applying the magnet before conforming the item (should not be necessary)?
After changing the parent you could use "Add element to deforme" from the mag's Properties box, then turn the Mag dial to zero in the character, but as I said in the last post, this should not be necessary, you should be able to apply the mag directly to the clothing. The only relevent lines in the mag's pp2 should be "smartparent" in the base (baseProp) and zone (sphereZoneProp), and "deformTarget" in the mag (magnetDeformerProp). This last one deformTarget determins the actor(s) to be deformed.

I create a character using magnets.. all is well. I put clothing on my character, I load the magnets on to the clothing (at least I have the clothing selected) but they load on the character not the clothing.. is there some secret to this? I thought the magnets would load on what figure I had selected. or do I need to create separate magnets for clothing? Thank Mystic
