Looks good - can hardly wait to see the fall and cascades

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 6:53 PM

If it's not free why is it in this forum? Just curious. Phil, you are such a nut. Next you'll be saying it's where Vickie is planning her first rock concert. lol Marque

mateo_sancarlos ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 6:54 PM

What price will you be selling it for? The rock texs are nice, but it looks too symmetrical if you ask me. In case you're going for a natural look.

Petunia ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 7:37 PM

I think an appology is in order for the fine folks that you got help and encouragement from.

Kendra ( ) posted Wed, 03 September 2003 at 8:47 PM

It looks good, I'm a big fan of water in Poser so I can't wait to see the final renders.

That said...
"I think an appology is in order for the fine folks that you got help and encouragement from."

Actually, clarification is in order by the admins. We can't be jumping on individual posters who may or may not know about the recent controversy or the rules. Some posts have been jumped on and moved, others are left alone. There has been no consistancy and it needs to be addressed. Either WIP posts are allowed or they aren't and it needs to be made clear one way or another. Someone needs to make the call and then people need to heed it and stop challenging it. Admins?

Petunia..nobody should ever have to apologize for seeking help no matter what it is they're working on. Where the request is posted is a separate matter.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 2:36 AM

Ah my mistake. I've read thru the previous posts and I was sure it was mentioned as a freebie. OK, since it's obviously not, then it should be moved, or there is no consistency at all here. Not that it comes as a big surprise to me... I fully agree with Kendra, people must be made avare of the rules and then OBEY to them.

Hi No don't move it the guy asked for help we gave it I don't recall anything that said that this was a sale item even if it was help was requested and was appreciated end of story. I think as I've said before all this about adverts is just rubbish Ok so post a single closed thread saying this is finished and available at..... There are several items that I have seen as wips that look good but I have not a clue as to whether they were even finished and I have no intention of ever tralling through a forum full of adverts ( I see enough 'junk' advertising all day as I work for a national news paper group ! The best type of advertising is personal recomendation anyway (see all the comments people make about Daz etc) Dave (who's fed up of this argument! )

seeklight ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 5:03 AM

hello Well for one i will not apolagise for something i have not done. secondly i thought this was a site for artists, and when they need help the post and ask for . Just becouse i posted in here does not mean i have to make it a free item, Now that you seem to think this is some sort of ploy to show me store items then your mistaken. In the original post i asked for help on the maps,i got help and sorted the maps so i thought it woild be nice just to show outher artist what i was doing, but alas no not here at renderosity,it brings out the bloodey linch mob for crying out loud. Just when are the ppl here going to grow up and behave like adults and not whinging little spoilt brats. At one time not to long ago this site was great ,but now just to much crap involve itself in to every conversation and post, whick imho should not be aloud here Again i am very sorry for the misunderstanding about all of this, but dont go mentall on me or any one else just becaouse they decide to try to make a living and not give everything that they make for free regards seeklight

PabloS ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 5:08 AM

Shouldn't the 'test' be whether it's marketing related? This wouldn't appear to fall into that area. This person was asking for help and only when the question came up was it revealed that it would be a 'for sale' item. Don't see why an apology would be needed ... I saw, nor felt, any intentional deception.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 5:14 AM

I haven't seen this as a sales ploy either, but it gets awfully hard to judge sometimes. The FACT is that this waterfall has had what... 4 - 5 threads here now, thus gaining a LOT of exposure. The problem is when you really ARE asking a question, as I am certain seeklight did here. That's where the grey areas begin, becourse while you are actually in need of hept and comments/suggestions, you are at the same time exposing the item which will at some point be for sale. Personally I don't care if people post commercials in here or not. I can skip them if I want, but I just want the rules to apply to everybody, not just a select few.

I agree ernyoka 1, My intention was not to expose this for the store i needed help and that is all i have another product in the store and i never asked for help on that only from sam on a posing issiue. All i wanted was to get help and let the ppl see how it was turning out nothing less nothing more, regards seeklight

Perhaps you should have posted these pics as an addendum to the question thread, rather than start a new one. Then there should have been no question of its being a commercial post, since the questions were perfectly legitimate.
