Attached Link: Items for the project

file_75301.jpg

OK... been looking, back and forth via Amapi, UV mapper and Bryce. *l* The attached zip-link contains a bryce file with the following items: * Ashtray * Coke glass with straw * An elbow straw * A posterframe with a poster of the "perfect man" * A table That's so far what I've got that could fit into the diner. A ceiling fan would be fantastic! As would other items. (Like French fries lost on the floor. *lol*). I've been looking for images of salt and pepper shakers so that I could model something of the liking; the only ones that I found that resembles what I've envisioned are these: http://www.spamgift.com/home/Html/Images/6033.jpg But they don't look "quite" right. Also; I've been thinking; I can host items that you'd like to be a part of this project; what I can do is to add them to the 50's zip file, and upload them when I get them. The easiest is to mail me the item you'd like to have added. But please IM me and tell me that I'm receiving an attachment. I'm pretty gunshy after cleaning up 2 nasty viruses. Hmm... what else.. Yeah.. feel free to mess around with the diner; it's supposed to be a learning project. Hmm... Oh, and the mat's that I have applied to the diner and these items are all found in the original Bryce 5 mats. Some are tweaked a little (the straw is a bit transparent) but that's all. I didn't want to add a lot of "stuff" to it, but rather let ya'lls imaginations run off with you. Which is also why the "perfect man" is framed and not a 50's poster. The 1957 Cadilac is in 3Dcafe, it's Posette serving (or flirting), and the palms in the images that I posted last night are Bryce palms... I guess since I suggested the project, I'll volounteer coordinating; so please feel free to yell to me if there are something that I can do. Other than that, - "shake it" and let's roll. :) Britt

I suggest using the zenith lighting rig for this scene.

madmax; what's that?? and where can I find it? Also; have to add that my groupnaming on the above objects are a mixture of English and Norwegian! lol Sorry about that, but I guess that's my trademark. When I work with a model, I name the parts the first word that comes to mind; and that might be an English word or a Norwegian word. For instance; kant means "edge" in Norwegian. And both the Ashtray and the table has one. l

Great! fan, MadMax! That will be a nice addition to everybody's 50's joint! :) lol Danamo; I wish my brain could be truly bilingual, You know. I had a boss once who was fluent in 6 languages. She never mixed them. That was so impressive!

Here's the smoothed preview of the ceiling fan I made. Not as fancy as the one Madmax has in some regards, but looks more typical.

pauljs75. That looks really great! Would you like for me to host it on our server? If so; give me a beep, will you?

danamo ( ) posted Tue, 09 September 2003 at 6:48 PM

Wow, that's a great-looking fan pauljs75! I have to agree that your fan design looks more like the fans that I've seen in '50s-era restaurants. This is no knock on MadMax's fan which seems quite realistic, but more contemporary.
