Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Just to keep things on the up and up, I wish to state here that if the person who does this work for me does NOT own the items needed, I will PURCHASE those items for him/her. (for example: if the base figure for the robe is on the zygote costume CD, I will purchase a copy for the modeler if necessary). Kate
Well, of course it would be popular. grin I wouldn't want exclusive rights to it, just the rights to use it in my artwork when I need to (royalty free, of course wink). I've already had an e-mail on this one and I've sent off scans of a McCall's sewing pattern that is exactly what I'm asking for, so maybe something will be available in a day or three. Let's hope. :) Kate
Well, I don't think you'd be able to do it with a texture or trans map, you'd have to actually make changes to the mesh on this one. What I have is pictures of the general look I'm after. As you can see from the image below, a transmap wouldn't work well at all. The "B" images are what I'm after. Kate
Kate A few questions: From the picture it looks like it extends to just above the knee. Is that about right? I think, you may need a few morphs to change from male to female because of the difference in shoulder width and the shape of the chest. Which figure would you use it for most? It would obviously be easiest to model in 2 parts (hood and cloak). Would that suffice or would you need it broken down further? I'd be happy to make this free of charge (I'll get to understand international financial transactions over the internet one day :) but I have limited time and I'm sure you'll get a taker sooner than I can manage. If you're willing to wait a while, e-mail me: bergerac@global.co.za Berge
Kate if you would like to email me I'm sure that I can work within your parameters. Regards PhilC pcooke@philc.net
Kate, You didn't say which figure (or is it more than one?) that you want the cloak/cape for. If you want a conforming garment, that's a major part of the job. I can also produce something if needed, but I'd need to know the target figure. It occurs to me that some of the movement variations on a garment like this will follow the arms, and some will not, so it almost certainly needs morphs as well as conforming movement. So I'd also need the morph range. You might want to wrap the left front all the way across the right shoulder (the classic Dracula pose) as well as back off the shoulders.

This time I'm looking for someone to do a bit of custom modelling/morphing work for me. I can't pay much, but am more than willing to reimburse for time and energy on this one. What I need is a hooded cloak. By cloak, I mean something that is loose fitting, covers the body to the ground and has NO SLEEVES. It must be poseable but conforming is not absolutely necessary. I need morphs to raise and lower the hood so the item can be worn with the hood up or with the hood off and collapsed against the back of the garment. I also need a morph that will allow the wearer to throw it open and back over the shoulders (similar to the way the superhero capes are worn). I need to be able to scale it to fit both the male and female figure. I have the hood.obj from the moonshadow (I think that's the name) character at the 3DCC which is perfect for the image I need to make, but none of the capes are suitable and what Zygote calls a cloak on the Costume CD is just a robe. Is there anyone out there who can either model this from scratch or who can combine the files I already have into one garment that I can use for the images I need to make? Again, I would go to Zygote or another company for this but I simply cannot afford their prices, especially on a job for which I am not being paid, but I can pay someone a reasonable price (less than $100 please) for the necessary work. You can either post here if you're interested or contact me via e-mail at Shrew@shrewslair.com. I would do this myself but I don't have the necessary skills and I don't have the necessary time to acquire those skills just yet. Thanks in advance, Kate
