Subject: CARRARA: APPLYING DECALS TO METALLIC OBJECTS

Chris C ( ) posted Mon, 24 July 2000 at 9:29 PM · edited Thu, 30 January 2025 at 1:23 PM

I am trying to apply decals to metallic objects, but when I do so the decals seem to either take the properties of the metal or become transparent. Is there a way I can keep the opacity of my decals like I designed them? Also, if I use black, It seems to invert to white(not an anti-aliasing halo) on the surface of the metal. I will rephrase this question if it is not clear.

Thanks. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks to be exactly what I was looking for.

Keithw- Thanks for the link. I went to the raydream site and just gobbled up the tutorials. Great stuff!
