Have any of you heard of him? His work is amazing (in my opinion). When I first saw some of his photographs I asked myself if he used photoshop or some paint program to add the color and effects. But when I read the little paragraph on how he accomplishes his work, I was astounded. He works in complete darkness with extremeley long exposure times of up 5 hours. And while the film is being exposed, he goes through with a flash light, individually illuminating his subjects. It is amazing what he can accomplish. You must check it out.

The technique is called Painting with Light. Its actually rather easy although very time consuming. It is great fun too! You can put the same person in one image, multiple times, in one exposure. I have done some work with this technique. There are 3 or 4 images in my People gallary at www.zhounder.com but they are a far cry from this!

Painting with Light...now that sounds like an excellent monthly challenge. Arming yourself with flashlights and strobes covered with colored gels...staying out all night...I'm game for that fun!! (LOL)

I've seen brilliant work by others doing this technique...of course their names escape me at the moment...nice link.

I am, therefore I create.......
