Subject: Vue Pro mac version anyone?

TheWingedOne ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 9:59 AM · edited Tue, 07 January 2025 at 9:28 PM

Heyas, just came back from holiday last weekend and found out there a lot of exiting things going on... Vue pro's out - wow! As some of you might know I'm a mac person. Therefore I'd be interested if anyone tried the mac version so far? I'd be interested in the stability, working with Poser textures and such. :) Many thanks in advance for sharing any experiences, Phil

Me too - because Vue4.1.2 with mover is far less than stable on the Mac. A lot of times I have to reboot my whole system because vue locks everything up. Often when editing materials or tweaking motion curves this happens. I hope the word professional also means stable. Scott

The MAC version has been tested by e-on themselves. Guitta

Scott, Vue 4.1.2 hangs on my Mac from time to time as well, but it never locked the whole machine. What OSX are you running? Mine is 10.2.6 If Vue hangs I just kill this process and restart Vue. @Guitta: I first thought of contacting e-on, but I was not very shure if I get honest answers. Just remember the box of Vue4 saying the Poser import worked on a mac which wasn't true in the very beginning when I bough it. ;) Phil

Phil, I am on 10.2.6 and it usually pretty violent - the beachball spins and jitters and is no longer under mouse control. It does not respond to force quits and the only option is to hit the restart button. This even happens when openGL is turned off, so e-on obviously has some very low-level code that is messed up. I am hoping e-on tested the Mac a lot like guitta said - because right now trying to animate or even change materials in Vue4.1.2/mover is very frustrating. I will probably order it but I am sure hoping for some stability. Scott

Hi i'm a new user of Vue Pro that i bought in Paris Apple expo 2days ago. The purpose is to create still images so far. The version is 4.50-02 build 265692. I'm working on a bipro1.42 with the original radeon 9000 card, jag 10.2.6 When i open Vue, the soft tells me : "Your video board/driver doesnt support all of the openGL features use by this software. The software will not perform reliably... We recommend that you disable OpenGL. Vendor: ATI technologies Inc. Renderer: Radeon9000 OpenGL engine Version: 1.3ATI-1.2.20" I disable the openGL but, still, the program is really unstable (sudden quit) Anyone knows if that's normal ? How i can resolve this and if it's possible with the radeon 9000 ? Do i have to buy another card to get openGL on ? Thx for any answer and/or ideas. Baax

Hi esther hope 4 u u'll receive ur version quickly. i've been "working" on this problem since yesterday (that's why i'm here today) and it's really odd. Program's crash a lot even if it doesnt freeze the entire system. I will simply quit. As a newcomer in this forum, i'm obliged 2 ask u : what's "the knowledge base" ? ;-) Baax

Hi, well it's the e-on tech support thing. A bit like this forum but the guy who answers works for Vue. http://www.e-onsoftware.com/Support/ I think that's the link. Anyway go there and look for knowledge base. Let me know if you solve the problem or not. Maybe it's just a matter of getting updates for your video card inside your computer. Love esther
