Hi Toolstech, That's my product; hope I can help you. Unfortunately, I'm caught in the hurricane Isobel aftermath and don't have electricity yet at home - just popped in from a friend's computer to ease my severe computer withdrawal and spotted this post first thing. Don't know when I'll get back online (soon, I hope), so I'll try to post as much as I can think of that might be helpful, and promise to figure out your problem as soon as I can, if this doesn't help. My XprssnMagics are indeed Macromedia Director projectors. I assume the .INI file error means you have the Windows version. But if you are on MacOSX, that's probably the problem. My Director is still OS9, until I get the upgrade along with my new G5 in several weeks. I'll then be making a MacOSX version and will coordinate with DAZ to get it to Mac customers who need it. If you have the Windows version, my first guess is that the download was somehow corrupted. Can you open the Adobe Acrobat .pdf User Guide? If not, try to DL M3XMagic again; you should have another two tries available from your DAZ customer page. If I'm not back online before Monday and you contact DAZ customer service, be sure to tell them what version of Windows you're using. Meanwhile, maybe some kind soul here who has M3XprssnMagic and recognizes this error message can offer some help for us - Elisa/gryffnn
Thanks gryffnn. I am on Windows XP. The pdf file loads just fine. The download from the DAZ page was in the form of a .zip, which also extracted ok, and not the .sit. As you suggested, I tried the download a second time from my account page, but received the same message. By the way, there is no .ini file in this .zip archive. If you want to follow up on this out of the forums, feel free to send a private message with any additional suggestions you may think of when you are next online. Thanks again!
Hi gryffnn. Just an FYI, I figured out what the problem was. There is an issue with Macromedia Director and the length of the path under which the executable is contained. If the path name has more than 128 characters, the error I mentioned will occur. I simply moved the folder up a few directory levels and it works fine.
Hi, I haven't run into that before with Windows, although I've heard Mac's don't like long pathnames in MAT files. Maybe it's an XP issue. I have a query out to DAZ to find out if they've run into this. So I'll be sure to let them know, and will add the info to my user guides. Thanks a lot for letting me know you've got it working - hope you get much good use from it! Elisa

I just purchased M3XprssnMagic, but I am having some problems. I can not launch the utility. It is marked as a Macromedia Projector utility, and when I attempt to launch it gives an error "Unable to load movie playlist. Does the .INI file exist?" ?? Does anyone know what I need to do to correct this?
