Subject: Linking

Why can I no longer send a link to an image in my gallery to friend and have it not work? It shows a "not authorized" message. Is this some new security measure or am I just in the doing something wrong?

I think to view an image in the galleries, your friend needs to be logged in as a member here...

Has there been some change? I have never had any trouble with this before.

This was changed a while back. We had too many non-members scripting the galleries and distrupting the servers. You can send a link to your gallery or your images but they will have to be a member to view other images. tammy

It has to have your name in the link. So if I wanted to send my gallery to a non-member, I would send. http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=tammymc You get this by going to Member Options on the top sidebar dropdown and selecting My Gallery. If you send a link to a direct image in your gallery, then it still has to have your name within the link. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=369565&Start=1&Artist=tammymc&ByArtist=Yes You can get this by going to your gallery via the sidebar link under Member options and then selecting an image from your gallery. If you give the link..... http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=369565 They will not be able to view the images unless they are a member. Hope that better explains. Sorry, had to test this myself in order to get all the specifics. Thanks Illusion for clarifying. tammy

What if I wanted to send a link to a single image. Like: http://www.renderosity.com/photos/GAL_200309/GalleryImage504660.jpg The last time I sent a link to an image in my gallery it worked, but that was a couple months ago.

No that will not work it has to be ... http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=504660&Start=1&Artist=jefa111&ByArtist=Yes I went to your gallery and clicked on the image and it will display the URL. That one you can use, plus the comments can be viewed as well. BTW - adorable puppy. :)
