Subject: Posers dynamic hair in Bryce?

Hello all. I know that i can count on you to help me with something. What annoys me the most, is that i havnt found a way to import Poser 5's dynamic hair into Bryce 5! i have tried several exporting formats from Poser, and they all still dont work. For those of you that know Poser 5, i have set the dynamic hair as a child to the parent; the parent being the skull. I really dont know how to do it, and i know that there MUST be some way! i want to use better models in Bryce, and to have the dynamic hair too, would really add to the quality of the Bryce render. So does anyone have the answer? Oh, and another thing. I still need a CLASSIC suit of armour model. i downloaded the "Armour of decision", but it was too barbaric for my scene. If you want to know what i mean, check out my latest render: "Contemplating Action". i really wanted to add a suit of armour. Thanx all.

I'm not sure, but I think I remember reading that the Poser dynamic hair only works inside Poser 5.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

It does not work for as many times as I have tried. And yes it is annoying. This is why I have been grabbing all the brushes for hair I can find and learning to paint hair in postwork.

Yes the dynamic hair cannot be exported but you could always use Kosaburo hair which is in obj format and is very good outside of Poser. You'll find it at the link. 8) Catlin

It can be done....but the results are not the quality of the hair in poser.

It doesn't work, Poser doesn't use polygons to calculate it's dynamic Hair. Polygons only define the growth plates/points. Thus, Jelisa's atrocious tutorial! Althoug possible to export, what you're exporting is a "draped" shape file, NOT the individual hairs. Which is obnoxious, I totally love Poser 5 other than it's export problems... Dynamic hair can still be done with Rhino or Wings, although it might become tedious when you consider how many hairs one would have to model...

And to "mesh" a decent hairdo, it would end up in the 20 to 30 MB range for just the hair!

MINIMUM, Dan! My stupid rug, which had far less "thread" meshes than a human head has hairs, was 92MB by itself!
