Subject: Okay, I really feel stupid having to ask this but - Help! (RE: DAZ Contest)

First, let me start off by saying that I have had very little in the way of formal art training and since I am beginning to feel that pain, I will likely be going back to school soon. (sigh - there goes what little free time I have!) Okay, currently DAZ is running a contest and it's for that Wall Calendar. The Calendar will bein 12 X 12 inch format and they said to submit the file as a *tif, cropped as desired to 12.5 X 12.5 inches, which allows for bleed trim. 350 DPI or larger L2W compression is okay. Now, I understand the DPI and the Tif, but what I don't understand is how large to create my image. I've never worked in anything over 1024 X 768. So, do I render the image 1250 X 1250 pixels? Is that 12.5 inches? Do I render lager? I hope this is okay to ask this here, but I figured I would get a quicker answer here.

It's pretty confusing of DAZ to state the size in inches for a render... Since DPI is "Dots per Inch", I would think that 350 DPI x 12.5 inches = 4375 pixels is the size they are looking for. Therefore, render at a size of 4375 x 4375 pixels. If anyone interprets this in another way, please post...

Online Now!

That's correct - DPI's only purpose (other than tp spread confusion) is to convert between pixel dimensions and physical dimensions. Third try at posting.
