Subject: Finding Cheapie DAZ Originals for PC Club Vouchers

rreynolds ( ) posted Mon, 06 October 2003 at 10:31 AM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 9:41 PM

Just do a search for "original" at DAZ and you'll get a list of all (actually, most, because a few don't come up) DAZ originals. Anything under $7 would be free with a voucher. A lot is stuff I would never buy, but they at least allow the voucher to be used. Anything under $15 becomes affordable between the 30% off and the $5 voucher. While the voucher isn't the greatest thing in the world, due to it's limitations, I doubt too many people bought into the PC Club solely for the voucher. DAZ should not have listed the voucher as a given $5 off each month in their PC Club promotion, but most of us seem to see it as an extra bonus that may or may not get used each month. I know it wasn't the reason I joined the monthly club

I can imagine that Daz has been seriously busy this year what with V3, M3, Mimic, the Millenium Kitty, Dog (WIP) and the upcoming Daz Studio. I am content to wait & see.

I wish Anton would do some really cool M3 stuff for the Platinum Club like he did for V3. I wonder where he is?

Anton is alive, he IM'd last night. I wouldn't hold my breath, you might run out of air.

Hi pdxjims, I just had this account reactivated a few days ago. I had left after that nonsense Mehndi pulled with her piece of fiction. lol I no longer work for that company just so you know. I am solo again. Sorry but I am not able to talk about anything regarding them or their stuff. Not sure what my plans are right now since this is all very recent but I'll be around here again more often while my plans come together. Regards, Anton I am thinking about trying my hand at story writing. I was thinking my first was going to be about a wizard who is hired by a small town to help save them from a drought. The town is very well known but with limited resources. Over the years the great craftman of the town have forgotton how to make food fast enough to feed their needs. The wizard builds for them a giant but delicate magic machine to make food for them. The machine has many dials and buttons. The wizard warns them not to play with the machine, changing the sensitive dials and settings that make the food. But the Town grows arrogant thinking the machine isn't that complicated. SO they start pushing buttons and changing settings despite the wizards warnings. Despite all the wizards efforts to help the people of the town, they will not actually listen to him or help him do what he must do to hold off the drought. The Machine starts to act strangely. The wizard gets frustrated and tells them they are being foolish overlooking the obvious and by ignoring him. The town that hired the wizard get's tired of the wizard nagging them so the get rid of the wizard thinking they can use the giant magic machine themselves. SO the wizard goes on his way happily but worried about the future of the town and the machine they did not build. ------------------------ was thinking of using Poser to do the pictures for the story.

I've missed your shining and informative posts (and dry wit). Don't let the buggers get you down. Sorry about the job change, I know that that company will regret your loss. However, it does give you the artistic freedom you do so well with again. I hope you start producing your great products again soon. Nobody models as well as you do! I like parables, and this one rings true in some, strange way. Welcome back! You've been missed! Jim

ANTON! - great to have you back here, and in the Free Market! I think it is a great move for you and send you my best wishes for your continued success! Your story is wonderful too. You should write a whole series of stories about that Wizard, and they would sell better than Harry Potter around here. So please consider writing a few future episodes, and Poser illustrations would be a great touch too. great to see you active here again.

MachineClaw, Lol I am watching that now. hehe. This is the part that just played. "But it was not the end. I felt life in me again. I'd been sent back; until my task is done. And I come back to you now at the turn of the tide. One stage of your journey is over..another begins..." -except from The Two Towers(movie) Don't ya just love all things Tolkien? ---------------------------------------------------- Hey Ron, I really would like to do a line a childrens books. Those old fearie tales taaught great lessons I think. I have tons of them. Two others that come to mind is "Quacker's the Butterfly" and "The Bossy Palimino". Maybe I will do a site with them illustrated and such. Parent's could print the pages for their kids. This is a pic of the Bossy Palimino

Oh no just a story of course. nothing real. The wizard story was inspired by watching to much SciFi channel. Really is a cliche story line. Still needs work. The message in the story is one of "sometimes you have to resist helping so people can learn to do things on their own. SOmetimes interfering makes things worse." The "Quacker's the Butterfly" story is my favorite and the one I want to do first. It is about a duck that is convinced he is a butterfly despite everyone telling him otherwise. Message is about faith in oneself. Imagine a cute little duck wearing fake wings. "The Bossy Palimino" is about a horse that lives in a farm and is always telling the other animals her way is better than theirs. Story goes into them all having to try to work together and the Bossy Palimino has to learn that one way of doing things isn't always the only way. Just some side projects. I loved stories as a kid. :) PS: email is antonkisiel@comcast.net for those that have my old emails.

Good to see you around here again Anton, hope we can talk again soon. Very nice story too, I've thought about writing my own about a nosy fairy godmother who comes to steal all the town's merchants whenever there's bad weather...but nah, everyone around here has already heard it. ;) SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

Caly ( ) posted Mon, 06 October 2003 at 4:17 PM

Actually the way I heard that story, merchants couldn't be 'stolen'. Rather they all left the town out of their own free will because their town elders didn't treat 'em right. So they all trekked off to find new towns. ;)

{{{{{I had left after that nonsense Mehndi pulled with her piece of fiction.}}}}} Every word I quoted from your phone call to me Anton, was the literal word for word truth, and you know it. Don't verbally abuse people over the phone, unless you wish to have it known about. Lets not be coy. The only piece of "fiction" I see is your cute little fairy tale story about Daz and your Platinum Club Machine. The "machine" is not broken, it merely has good strong competition/support. Something that sent you into such hystrionics and personal abuse of me over the phone that it has cost you your job. Now, for you mods, before you get all panic stricken and rush to lock this thread, and pull out the paddles and whack behinds, this is not an attack on Anton... this is an ANSWER to Anton, who clearly desires an answer or he would not have addressed me :) I am out of this now.

Just an observation...it seems to me the villages could live in peace if the mayor of one town stayed in their own town instead of crossing the city limits for no good purpose than to cause trouble. If they are so prosperous and happy, why bother to keep coming into a town they despise? Seems odd to me. But I suspect this is a story that has no real ending. Don't get chased off again, Anton. You have a lot of talent and I, for one, look forward to more of your stories. I think you have a real talent for weaving stories. Love the horse. :)

Ack. keep having problems getting message to post. Hope this one works. Thanks everyone. Please don't put too much faith in what Liz is saying. She is just mad that we had an arguement on the phone. We used to be friendly. Liz had nothing to do with me being solo now. lol not even a little bit. :) Anyway let's just get back to happier stuff.

The Mayor of the other towns keep getting brought up, by such Wizards and Elders, and when one's name is mentioned, it has a powerful effect. When a name is heard, it tends to draw the named person's attention. Especially when there seems to be some sort of accusation attached. However this particular Mayor actually helped build This particular village and has always remained a part of this Community/ the community in general. This particular Mayor actually does do Art. Then there are those that feel the need to stand up for those unjustly accused or harangued and/or to offer succor and a new welcome place to rest. As for myself, I appreciate the Wizard's talents, but have faith in the Townsfolk doing what is best for them.

This is one townsfolks who know better than to meddle in the affairs of wizards. Particularly when I know nothing of what has transpired and the fact that it's no one's business but the wizards. So, Anton, what about making us a nice wolf or fox?

Hey Anton!! Been worried since we haven't seen you around! Glad your robes have been dusted and the batteries in your wand recharged! So, um, how about continuing the tradition of one of the wizard's most enchanting creations: the housemouse!!! The village children cannot play with him because, not like the emperor, this housemouse is definitely naked! The parents have hired a piper to lead the shirtless critter to lands far away but the children have vowed to follow! Only the Wizard of Anton can save our children! We exhort you please conjure suspenders!

hey there, I cannot discuss anything I was privy to prior to this recent change. Anything I create from here on out will have to be new for new projects of my own creation. But I have lots of ideas that are shaping up nicely. I would like to continue with Poser and with this community which I am allowed to do. When I have a more information I will let ya all know what, when and where I will do that. Regards, Anton
