ok I am trying to create a beard prop. This is my first attempt so any hint, tips , comments, litte secrets that would help are much appreiciated:) I used the strands from the conforming curls(many o' them) needless to say the file is pretty big, anyone know a way to reduced the poly count, like getting rid of the non-visible ones? I'm only half done thats why I only show half of the face, I will be adding a mustash eventually. thanks in advance!

Hmmm, not sure about reducing the poly-count - except by running it through something like Polytrans (although I think Amorphium can reduce poly-count as well). But that is great, a real ZZTop style beard. I look forward to seeing the finished article. You might like to make the 'tash as a seperate prop so that you can have 3 combinations . Paul

You've done a great job. I don't know if it's possible or not, but you might consider making it morphable so there can be different lengths. Short business look or the long mountain man type and all points in between. I hope you can reduce the poly count because I know loads of folks would want this. Melanie

thanks, as always all you guys are wonderfully helpfull. I will try to make it have morphs for bending because right now it sticks down straight through the chest. any ideas on how I can make it bend forward? I have 3dmax r3 and rds 5.

heyas; you can try that trick of parenting it to the neck and inheriting bends, like... shoot, i forgot who it was, but it was done with the hair to make it move more naturally instead of sticking off the head like a big chunk of wood. :)
