I posted this problem over at the LW forum, along with a WIP

I'm making boots with a lot of straps & holes for the shoelaces, problem is I don't know how to make 'em.

does anyone have any experience with this stuff?
I'm working in subpatch mode so stenciling the discs will severely damage my geometry, any ideas?
