Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 8:11 am)
I've been using it for years. It's great for making morph targets. I've also modeled most of my Free Stuff (including Furrette) with this application.
Mete (the author) has just released v1.7.0 beta, and although the new version has a few glitches, it can now import larger meshes (up to 65534 polys), which means I can finally load the Millennium figures' heads for editing.
MilkShape isn't the most advanced modeling software available, and if you prefer splines/nurbs over polygons, it probably won't be your cuppa. On the other hand, it supports dozens of file formats (including Poser's all-important OBJ format), registration is only $25, and the MilkShape forums are very active.
Download it for free and give it a try; the software has a 30-day trial, and is fully-functional through that period.
I downloaded the new beta today, I like it so far its easy for me to understand. I'm not real big in the knowledge of making morphs etc just yet, but I'm on the bases of trying to learn. So this software is, I think, perfect for that reason. Not only that the cost is wonderful for a beginer. thanks for your input! --Essie
