Hi all. as i am sure yall know, sigs are a big thing. I am trying to find as many different types of armor and weapons i can find. I really need Yoroi and other samurai armor, but before I can get that, i am sure that I'll have to learn how to create them. The projects are all non-profit, so I cant spend money on the pieces ( sorry ). On the other hand, I can provide a host site for the full collection on my (sad little) domain, so that everyone will always know where to go for period armor, and am willing to post links to comercial sites also. The 3 things I want to do first are for myself 1 an overweight man, preferably in kimono, with a variety of weapons 2 a man in full plate mail wielding a mace and shield 3 a black man in leather armor with a staff. Also germaine to the topic is the specific game in question: Asherons call. There is anoither armor type that might be fun to learn to model on, Amuli Armor. Amuli seems to be a padded leather with plate sewn into the shoulder, it has flared sleeves andt the legs are billowed with large quilting and fitted ankles THere is also Celdon armor, which is a highly figured plate. thanks in advance Kiru, a willing student

sig? MMORPG?

heyas; signature files... like little pics of your character next to your name on messages and the like. never heard of mmorpg, but it's some kinda online rpg. (role playing game.) did you sift through the free stuff section for the items you're looking for? lords warrior had a free knight that would to for a full-plate mail guy. there's plenty of maces and staffs (staves?) and other medieval/fantasy weapons. after you exhaust this site (no mean feat), you can spread your search to poserworld, props guild, lannie's 3d site, pose forum online's fun stuff, chemical studios, poser mall... and the other umpteen dozen free goodies places. i think most of your characters can be built from the standard figure and free stuff. also search for morph packs to make the male figure overweight (fitting a kimono on him in that state will be a trick... use plenty of magnets). i don't think there's any oriental-style armors around, though. seems to be a rare breed. i've heard some people say they were going to try to make some, but... haven't seen any yet. (if any of you made some... where is it!?) :)

There was a Samurai helm in the free stuff yonks ago... Baumgarten, WarriorDL's site... Props Guild.. all have "period" armour on their sites.. and some is even free ) Some of the pieces are either .dxf or .3ds format.. both of which load into poser with little problems.. for texture mapping you'll have to export as an .obj and use UVMapper.. I was kind of hoping for easy to use stuff that would be plug and play (pardon the expression) for me. I dont have the time to become as skilled at poser as the rest of you. Thanks anyway
