Ok there was a warning in the max forum about win 2k sp3 screwing up max with the recommendation not to inastall, however it's a compulsory patch at work and seems to have screwed up Max, photoshop (I'm only on v4 though) and Bryce. All three apps have become much more unstable especially if using large amounts of RAM. Consider this a warning :-) be careful if you 2k. Anyone else had probs with this patch????

Nope. I'm now on SP4, used SP3 with no probs myself. AS

My son uses Max with sp3 and has had no problems at all...

I don't even know what SP3 is, I probably should, It seems since I started going to college, I've gotten increasingly stupid. Hmmm.

SP3 = Service Patch #3 In other words, an update to correct some of the flaws in Win2k.

Only weird thing I ever get is sometimes the files I delete don't appear in my recycle bin. They ARE there (I can "empty" the recycle bin), it'll even ask me if I want to "delete these 4 items", etc. But, no file icon or descriptions show up in the window. I think it might be because I still have my hard drives formatted with fat32 and not ntfs, but that's just a conspiracy theory. Other than that oddity, I can't think of any other problems I have really. AS
