Subject: need help finding "ground texture" after cleansing PPP

Hello all: I cleaned out unused things from my Poser 4 Pro Pack Runtime and accidently deleted the "ground texture". I am always prompted to find it when I open Poser or when I open a new window. Is there a way to rectify this, or do I have to reinstall? H'ep me Poser People! G'snix

You could simply create a new texture with the same name (Ground Default Texture.tif), and place it in your RuntimeTextures folder.

C'mon, it can't be that easy. There has to be some complex thing I have to do, like...oh,I don't know..you know..something hard..... I got nuthin'. Is there a particular type of texture I should use, or just choose one from my huge texture collection? Thanks again for the prompt response.

There has to be some complex thing I have to do ...

You could hack and recompile Poser to use a different texture by default. It's hardcoded, I think.

something hard.....

  1. Select the ground plane
  2. Turn off its texture from the material panel (Render menu --> Materials --> Texture Map --> None)
  3. Memorize this (Edit menu --> Memorize --> Element)
  4. Set this as your preferred state (Edit menu --> General Preferences --> Set Preferred State)
  5. Close and relaunch Poser

Step 3 might not be absolutely necessary, but I'm a belt-and-suspenders sort of guy (or I would be, if I wore pants).

Thanks Little Dragon.
