I don't know if anyone got the chance to see an exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland this summer (July-September) called The Greatest Album Covers That Never Were. It was the brain-child of music archivist Michael Ochs and artist Craig Butler. They asked a hundred graphic and fine artist to "reinterpret" the album covers of their favorite musicians of the last sixty years. (I thought it was a cool idea, but didn't want to get into any "copyright" issues so i went with "fake" groups...)
I know the tour went on to Los Angeles next and i think it's stopping in Memphis, Seattle and a few other stops along the way. If you get a chance, you've got to check it out! (if you're unable to, check out the site, hopefully you'll find inspiration too)
