Well, since I use Maya everything is organized in folders automatically. All I have to do is name the project (IE: my current project is called "Behind_The_Mirror") and then Maya creates all the folders for me (textures, images, scenes, renderdata, renderscenes and so on and so forth). Using correct naming procedures (for technical documents and stuff) also helps, as well as having all your papers in one place in your desk ^_^ <---signature---> Free your Mayanemirc

You can create a set of empty folders, like Softimage|XSI and Maya do automatically, and copy them into a new project folder every time you start a new project. I would strongly recommend coming up with a simple naming convention and sticking with it so version control will never be a problem. For example, if you are working on the head of a model and you have just saved the 47th incremental save of your 5th version of the model, you might call it headname_V5_47.max(or whatever the extention may be) Chris

Hello, How do you organise your folders when you want to make a long project ? Do you used any tools to track all the changes you made and all the reference files ? thanks laurent
