Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Oct 26 8:50 am)
In Vue it is possible: Select frame 100 in the timeline Open the material summary Find skin and double-click in the small window, this opens the material editor In there, check "Animate material surface (Z=time)" This will popup the image shown above. Click YES. In the terrain editor select Procedural colors Double-click in the color window and xelect ANY color (try to select one you don't have in your image to find it easily) Click OK and again OK In the material summary, select the color you have just created, right-click the window, select "load a material" and choose CHROME from metals. Click OK. You must now do this for every skin part you want to change to Chrome. If, at frame 130, you want to change things back, open your Figures details in the world browser and individually put back the original textures in opening the material editor and in clicking Mapped picture for each part to change. You will see then the original mapping immediately. I do it this way, but there is maybe a better one by animation specialists?? Guitta
You CAN do it in Poser 4 by the way, but it would be even better in Poser 5. However, none of these (including Vue) will give you the "spreading" look you probably want ... it would be more of a fade. (Unless I'm unaware of a feature in Vue that will let you do this.) The only way to do spreading or random change-over look is to do it in post, like with a gradient or something of that nature. -Tim

Situation: I import a walking Poser 4 female character into Vue 4. The animation is 150 frames. From frames 100 to 130, I'd like to change her original skin texture to chrome. Is this possible to do in Vue 4? In Poser 4? What about doing it in Poser 5?
