THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Still Got The Banner Strangeness

These damn things pop up all over the place, in place of pics, and graphics. Sometimes a banner will show up in place of this forum. I regularly clean my cache with Evidence Eliminator, btw. I've also gotten this prob over at 3dtotal.com.

Is my computer haunted or what??

Doug

I would take a wild guess and say it might be something with your computer, well, not your computer, but say the browser or similar. (Since this is happening at 3dtotal, also) Weird... AS

Let's see...I'm running Win98, 5.0 IE browser. I don't think I have blood, I think I'm running on 10w30.

Try Opera. www.opera.com Or at least IE 5.5. The 5.0 was pretty buggy IIRC.

Personally, I think the computer trolls did it :)

or try the mozilla family of browsers at www.mozilla.org - moz 1.5 works wonderful for me.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Look for folders called "ddm" or "Internet Optimizer" C:Program Filesddm or C:Program FilesInternet Optimizer If you find these folders delete them. When i had a problem like yours, these folders were the reason. Some websites will install stupid programs on your PC. :) Peace

Did a search and didn't find either one. I'm gonna update IE from 5.0 to 6.0. If I can steal myself away from Bryce, that is.

xceiverx ( ) posted Thu, 20 November 2003 at 9:44 AM

I thought for sure you would find them. Theres a progam called "Ad-aware", it runs a search for ad-ware on your system. You can download a trial so you can aleast run a search to help find the ad-ware that might be on your system. the address is --> http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ Good luck Peace

LOL...I have that prog as well, and run it regularly. I also have Spybot. Maybe it's something screwy in my registry.
