I used UV Mapper to create a new texture map for Kitty here, after someone suggested he needed something more. I had been just applying the cat texture to the human figure. But after finishing in UV Mapper, I now have a wonderful new *.OBJ file that would make a fantastic statue, should I need one. My question is, how do I create a new, posable character from the new object file? I think I need to use Objaction Mover, but I'm not sure. Can anyone assist?

Edit the human CR2 file to now point to the new OBJ. To do this open the CR2 in a text editor and search for "obj" there will be two instances. make changes to the file name and path. Your new obj file must be within the Geometeries folder. Save the CR2 with a new name and it will appear in your library. (you may need to refresh the listing by moving to a different section then back again). Hope this helps, PhilC www.philc.net

This kind of depends on how you made the original character, but assuming you've grafted the cat head on the human body, and have a working character except for the texture, then the process is fairly easy, rename your original object file, or back it up somewhere, and then replace it with the new OBJ file that you saved out of UVMapper. It has to be in the same folder, and named exactly the same as the original object file. Then when you load him from the library, Poser will load the new OBJ file with the UV mapping. Now you can use the bitmap you saved from UVMapper to paint a new texture. Objaction Mover is only needed if you want to distribute your character, and it's based on copyrighted objects, such as the zygote provided models that cme with Poser. Objaction Mover encoded your objects, and records only the new bits that you've created to a PCF file. When you install this PCF file, Objaction Mover takes the new bits, and merges them with the original bits from the original object file, which must be on the HD. That way, only people who own the orginal object can decode it. Regards- Lemurtek

<<assuming you've grafted the cat head on the human body>> I'm quite the mad scientist, aren't I? hehe... Phil: I tried your method, but I'm sure I did something wrong. When I tried to open the character in Poser after editing the cr2 file, a neon pink, headless/tailess body popped up that you cannot pose, although it is a figure, not a prop. Hmmm....any ideas? Lemurtek, I am about to try it your way, and see what happens. Thanks guys! Daniel
