Bump map usially come into Vue with very low settings. Try something like .1 or .2 in the bump tab of the material editor. That should do the trick...
Hey, I didn't know that. Does anybody out there have anymore useful tidbits about rendering Poser figures in Vue? I know about turning the ambient lighting down. I'd like to find a way to get the same quality of render of skin textures in Vue that I get in Poser. Impossible dream maybe, but it's my goal.

Hi there! I use Poser figures a lot in Vue 4 and Vue 4 Pro, and there are definitely some tricks and tips to getting them to look good. The link shows a quick example of what to do regarding lighting and textures. As far as the bump maps are concerned, it depends on the Poser figure you're bringing in. Some bump maps actually come in pretty well, others not so well. As an example, the Millenium Dragon bump maps usually come into Vue/Vue Pro at -.008 or something like that. Just play with the bump gain dial and do test renders to see how high you want it. 1.0 will be VERY high. There is no "absolute" rule of thumb when it comes to adjusting the bump maps, I do it by experimenting. Hope this helps! This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. I know Vue 4 import bump maps from Poser 5. However, they do not render in Vue enough to notice them. Does anyone know the settings in the materials lab in order for the bump map to be displayed noticably in Vue? I mainly want the vascularity bump map which came with Daz 3d's Barbarian to show up.
