Subject: Render Sizes

Rokol ( ) posted Thu, 27 November 2003 at 3:52 AM ยท edited Wed, 02 October 2024 at 3:28 PM

I am using Vue4 pro to render largescale images. Anything over 3200 pixels in size won't render properly!
It writes the picture immediatly and stops rendering in less than a second or so.

Has anyone else got this problem? Has anyone some suggestions?
I am using a 2.6ghz p4 1gig ram. Latest build of Vue!

Regards Rokol.

You only can render to disk in this size. If it stops, possibly you have not anough memory available. Guitta

Hi Gebe,
I am rendering to disk, so I can create large art prints.
I have only just got my new computer and there is over 100gigabytes of space left. Sometimes it says that the file will be say 800mb and do I want to continue? If I say OK, it writes immediatly and stops rendering!
Has anyone else tried to render to a large finished size of say 5200 x 3900?
Regrds Rokol.

Don't be in a hurry. I think it's working. When you say stops what do you mean? You can't see the render when it's rendering to disk. At that size the first line of the render could take a long time to complete. Then and only then will it write to the disk.

It's the progress bar down on the bottom left of the screen. It says that it is writing before it actually renders!
I am asking a lot out of my system, I am rendering big in ultra & 300dpi.Also lots of reflective materials with are making a 3200 pixel image guess at around 72hrs to render.
This is the biggest render size I have managed to get so far without the hiccup occuring.

Cheers for your help!

Well repeat after me: "Grouping is my friend" Do a search on posts by me about grouping. And how do you expect it to write to disk if it does not open a file first? It opens two of them I think one for the finished render and a temp file. Try this do it again and render to disk with a new file name and give it time, lots of time. It never says finished rendering does it? Wait for it to say that. It could take days depending on your system and scene. You may want to see my tutorial on tile rendering.
