Subject: Problem with MilCat 'Black American Short Hair' texture - Any suggestions??

I found this when I tried using Little_Dragon's new texture. The Red Tabby and all other textures in the "Classic Cat 1" pack work fine except for the Black Short hair. I first tried loading texures with the MAT file and then tried loading them manually - same results. And you can see by the sample render that it happens on both Mia and the MilCat itself?? (same Mia character, just used 'paste to background') I'm stumped as a tabby cat!!!???

The readme says that head and body texs have to be loaded individually...is that what you did? Quote Readme: Notes: This MAT pose only applies the included body texture. Head textures must be applied separately.

If you mean Mia, yes. But the MilCat is one solid texture, it makes no sense at all?? It happens on both the MilCat and on Mia-MilCatwoman? I've opened the textue(s) in Photoshop and they are all identical, no reason this one texture should be doing this....I totally can't figure out what's happening??!

I figured it out at last! Turned out that the MAT pose had grabbed some other texture called "Black.jpg". Out of frustration I renamed the one in the MilCat folder to "MilCat Black.jpg" and reloaded and now all is fine. Just another point why file naming should be done carfully! Things like 'shoes.jpg' or 'red.jpg' just don't cut it...unless you only have a few files to deal with ;

LOL...sort of like 99.99% of all instruction files...Readme.txt? Hard to believe the work that goes into creating something and the mind goes blank for a identifying name for the 'readme.txt'!! Glad you found the problem.

That's why my readme files are named a bit more descriptively now. And I also include a filelist so you know what to delete when uninstalling an item.

And I for one, thank you for that Little Dragon. It makes my life a lot easier because I do save readme files that contain important info in my Poser/Readmes folder. When the list is included it makes it a lot easier to track down files in the 1-gazillion files that get scattered around in Poser. I realize there are utilities available for some of these actions...but that is just one more program to clutter up the system.

"Turned out that the MAT pose had grabbed some other texture called "Black.jpg"" Yet another good reason to always, ALWAYS run CorrectReference when you install new stuff. ;)
