Subject: Lights / Rendering Difficulties

There is something odd going on when I try to render a scene I'm working on which contains four figures and numerous other objects. I've got the lighting set so everything is lit with a nice subdued bluish colour (it's a night scene). When I try to render it, however, the four figures come out brightly lit with white light which completely destroys the image I'm trying to create. Has anyone out there run into this problem too? I thought perhaps there was too much in the picture, but removing one figure and a bunch of other stuff didn't help. Any hints would be much appreciated. Thanks! Redplant

Hrrrrmmmmm..... have ye tried reducing the luminosity of the lights? I had something simular occur... kinda like someone swapped the fills with Kliegs... I reduced teh lights to almost totaly dim.. and the render came out bettre..

Red, check the ambient light and shinyness settings of your figures. maybe it's set to high. If you have the shinyness slider at minimum but a very bright color then you often don't see any difference in preview but when rendering you have a bright glowin figure. if that doesn't help maybe provide a render so we can exactly see the problem -Ede
