I haven't been able to afford the upgrade and haven't been able to talk the office into the upgrade either :( ... but what OS are you using?? i'm assuming your use of "Ctrl+Z" marks you as a PC user.. XP or 2K??
i know of modifier issues with MAC (OS X v10.3 [Panther] )
but it shouldn't affect you...
what happens is during the "activation" process the operating system switches to a secure input mode and disables the Shift and Option keys and the spacebar.
Disabling these keys prevents other network connections from accessing the keyboard input stream and compromising security.
Normally, the operating system reenables the modifier keys after the authentication process is complete.
You may want to contact Adobe directly, they can probably walk you through a solution...
sorry not much help...
:)

Apart from the crack disabling the control key, there have been a few cases of enhanced keyboards needing updated drivers: if you are using some kind of keyboard with extra programable keys (or any other addition that needs extra software installed) check for updates from the manufacturer, or try reverting to a standard keyboard.

Okay, I just got the new Adobe Photoshop CS and couldn't to return home and install it.. Installation went well and there does not seem to be any problems, but one: There are absolutely NO shortcuts that work for me.. Not even my beloved undo (Ctrl+Z).. I have tried everything.. Ctrl + <+button on numpad> does not work either.. Not a single shortcut button from the older version work, even though I can see they are still available (and why shouldn't they be) if I check out the compinations the menus have for them.. I have tried and install CS on my buddy's Pc to see if I had to smash my own out of frustration, but the exact same problem occured.. I would say it is pretty stupid if shortcuts keys are a default for CS, but where are they? Anyone with the same problem and/or a solution to mine? Cheers and happy holidays to all!
