I couldn't think of a scene to create, so I've been playing with the Terrain Editor to see how much detail I can fake on one terrain by adding noise to the terrain, along with smoothing, etc., then finding a texture for the whole thing that will enhance the terrain. There are 4 terrains in this pic, one for the shore, three for the water. This isn't really a wip, just a demo for the shore terrain. John

Nice tjohn. What did you use to make the water? That would really nice under my oil rig. You know, if you drop the shoreline a little bit, and have the water coming up through the stones/vegetation, you could have the edge of a swamp or a lake.

Just a quick creation and low res render. Create a terrain Go into the terrain editor. Increase terrain res to 512 or more. Apply a fractal named Slick Rock. Apply until you get the wave look you want. Lower the terrain until the waves look natural. Make the terrain solid. Exit the terrain editor. Apply the "water" material in the "Glasses" folder. Render.
