Subject: Question about reflections

I have set up a refective node in the materials room, but can't seem to get the reflective quality I want. I'm using a mirror prop and I'm trying to get a clear reflection in the actual "mirror". The best I can get is a hazy reflection similar to a reflection in glass. Any way to improve on this?

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm using Poser 5 SR3

Sounds like you didn't turn down the "diffuse_value" parameter. Try reducing that one to a low value like 0.1.

Thanks, stewer That helped a lot. I also lowered the highlight value to zero. Getting results much closer to what I want now. See ya, Lz

You want to have some fun? Try plugging the reflection node into a math node first. Now the reflection is in greyscale.

Or use a color_math node, instead. You can have an inverted-colour reflection with the right settings.

Way cool, Little Dragon Have to play around with that and see what I can come up with. Learning this stuff is half the fun. Thanks for the render, Lz
