I am afraid the answer is no: it is not possible in Vue to have materials that cast light. For that, you would need Carrara, Cinema4D or above. What you can do however, is create an array of soft lights and group them together to make it easier to move, duplicate and position correctly. I explained an example I made in one of my mini tutorials (check the link). The object I created has 8 shadowless soft spotlights and one point light in the middle with shadows as a fill light.Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=506501&Start=1&Artist=agiel&ByArtist=Yes
I used this object in a couple of pictures already. You can check 'Mr Yamagi's garden' in my gallery as an example of what that kind of ligt can do.Attached Link: http://www.nggalai.com/tutorials/tut_01.htm
Finally, if you want to know more, check out THE reference tutorial about lighting in Vue from nggalai.thanks. I will check these out! Love esther
