Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
Is Rhino's "drape" thing a tool or a process. Is this something that might be used to do full skirts passing over the knees in a sitting position? If you couldn't use the horse in Rhino as a template and only a square, how did you get the spline to follow the horse's back so well? Too many questions perhaps, but good work in any case. I keep hearing good things about Rhino! manowar
in Rhino under tools/ polygon mesh/ theres a button named reduce{Rhino1.1} you can pretty well set as few poli,s as you want, from the looks of this object i'd say start at around 6000 and work down from there... on the 2 face thing... i have never gotten acceptable results from that... i usually just import into Poser twice{after UVmapping}, once with normals reversed then, export with weld selected , seems to work so much better for me, after weld the number of verts is the same as the origional single object{i think}, hope this is helpfull.
Y'all have a great day.
heyas; oh, okay. coolers and caparisons and what-all. thanks guys! i'll see what it looks like with the neck piece invisible, that might look more like a regular blanket. i'll try that, too, jafo; sounds intriguing. okay, in rhino, i had the top view of the horse, and hit the 'drape' thing. and then you drag a rectangle around what you want to drape. and it kinda drops the rectangle so... well, so it's draped over the obj. that's why it follows the horse's spine, and has those folds around the leg areas. that is, i meant i couldn't drape my shape on the horse, i could only drape a rectangle(square) on the horse. does that make more sense? :) thanks, guys!

heyas; gotta love this rhino drape thing, though it wouldn't let me drape my blanket on the horse, just a square. (and it's spline to polygon translation is awful! need to work on that.) well, anyway, it had so many polys, i decided not to give it a thickness, but to use 2face. but 2face made it break up. maz, help! i got version 4, but still no dice. :/ i've de-pented and un-degenerated it.... still no go. meanwhile, you guys think the neck part is too long? right now it kinda looks like a cross between a horse blanket and that cloth thing you see on some knights' horses (what is that called?). also, it is conformable and/or posable.
