Hi, I'm working on an image that will be close in on an artificial Christmas tree. Ok, it doesn't need to be fake a real pine will do. Just need a few branches not the whole tree. All the trees I found in free stuff are full trees and lose detail when you get close. Any help would...help?

It might be hard to get a detailed christmas tree. You could use a picture of a tree from a christmas card or some where else instead.

I wish someone would do tree branch props. I haven't found any. There are whole trees, and there are individual leaves, but tree branches are sadly lacking. I really wanted some for my "Forest Nymph" pic. I ended up using some from Vue, but they are much lower-res than the rest of the image, and it shows. I think tree branch props would be very useful. For the Millennium Cat to loll upon, for fairies to flit among, for a serial killer to lurk behind. Sometimes you want more than a leaf but less than a whole tree. :-) I even posted a request in the wishing well, but so far, no response. Maybe it's too difficult a project?

If anyone has bryce 5 they could maybe make some branches using the tree designer. I mean like a tree with only a few branches but make the branches more detailed.

I think Geralday made some dead tree branches quite a while ago. Also I'm pretty sure that there were some at RDNA as part of the modular scene construction kits. Dead wood? Old wood? Trunks and branches and such twiggy stuff.

Ehm... I have to blow my own horn here :-) My Christmas tree is a full tree BUT you don't lose detail in closeup. The texture maps have enough resolution to stand closeup pictures. And the price is right. :-) Link is attached. best, Orio

Orio, thanks. thats just what I'm looking for. And you are right on the price, but It'd be well after christmas before I finished dl'ing over my dial-up AOL encrippled connection. I'm going to try to model it myself, got two ideas on quick and easy. I'll be back to get this after I replace my 'puter with one made this millenium.
