Does anyone know if there are any more textures around for Bloodsong's Heavy Horse ? I love the ammount of expression you can get into it's face..but would like to see if there are more textures somewhere ?

I've seen a lot for the DAZ Charger but not many at all for the Heavy Horse. Too bad too cuz I much prefer the Heavy Horse ;

Alla was working on some for the Marketplace. I'd love to see some myself.

I submitted them to the store last month but only found out this week "The model file you are building textures for is old and doesnt follow our current MP standards around texturing. If you can work your texture so the seams arent visable we will pass your texture. Or you can remap the model and provide a UVS file with your texture so that it gets re-mapped." I was very dissapointed as I love the Heavy Horse myself and would have really enjoyed seeing more images with it :( My tester loved the textures and thought that the seams were aceptable and I would never release anything that I wouldn't be happy to buy myself. As you can see after the shear amount of work that went into them I am a little pooed by it :( Alla

As much as I dislike seams, I'd still be willing to buy those, they're beautiful, and the heavy horse really needs texture expansion. Have you considered setting them up for sale at your site?

I looked into it but as I don't have any spare money at the moment I couldn't find anyway that would allow instant downloads that are secure. I may do it at a reduced price for a non automated download if there is enough interest. The unfixable seams are in the chest/buttock area so wouldn't be visable on most renders but there a a few small ones on the legs that I missed out of fustration with trying to fix the chest/buttocks that I have to fix first. Jeez! I SURE WOULD be interested! I bought the heavy horse with your "future" textures in mind. Since I'm an illustrator, I don't mind posting-out seams, since otherwise these are TERRIFIC looking textures for BL's HH! IM me (or I'll IM you) and I can buy them with PayPal. With PayPal you have your money (when accounts are varified) and then you can send out the link. That's how several other model makers-stores are doing it- PhilC, Sams3d, IW43D, etc.

IMHO the MP testers have gotten a little too freakin strict about seams. Alla Go to Rendervisions, Lady Cherry I'm sure would be more than glad to have these in the store there. Plus the split is way better. Lyrra

They look wonderful to me! Please let us know when and where they can be released!

freyfaxi ( ) posted Sat, 20 December 2003 at 2:16 PM

Yeah - These are JUST the sort of thing I was looking for. Sure, maybe the Heavy Horse IS getting a lil long in the tooth (??!!) as far as a model is concerned, BUT IMHO it is still THE most expressive one facially for a horse. I'd CERTAINLY be willing (nay, eager) to pay for these textures and poses if you should manager to find someone to host. Maybe Bloodsong might have some suggestions ? I'm sure extras for the HH would stimulate IT'S sale as well ? Everyone would benefit from that ? If you DO find a site...could you please (pretty please ?? ) let us know ?

Thanks Lyrra, I signed up there a few weeks ago so I could buy Ockhams excellent "Loader" Python script, I was impressed with what I saw, so if it doesn't work out on my site I'll try there. Once things are sorted I'll post in the Product Showcase forum here so people will know where to find them :) Thanks everyone for giving me the kick I needed to get these sorted out and up for sale! I really like these too :) A few seams here and there on the animal textures don't bother me, they are much easier to post out then seams on a human texture. These are just gorgeous Alla, and the Heavy Horse definately needs some new ones!! Please keep us posted ;) Pendy
