Subject: I've asked this before but here we go again - unseen fonts in photoshop 5

I've got my desktop PC running win2000 OS and have photoshop 5.0 loaded onto it (it's an old machine it can't take these new-fangled pshop7 things... :+P ). For some reason photoshop refuses to see any new fonts that I add to the fonts directory in the windows folder even after a reboot and a delete/reinstall of photoshop itself What do I do to make it see these extra fonts??? I know I have to delete some photoshop .dll file (I think...) but which...? cheers Sean

Hey Sean, you can force PS to rebuild the "font list" if you think it might have been corrupted. As to the font limit (number of fonts read by PS before crapping out) you'd have to ask Hoof, he's the "font-a-holic" ;)

...to force Photoshop to rebuild it's font list, search your drive for adobefnt.lst and delete it.

you've been having probs with fonts & PS for some time now... dating back to last year... holy crap batman ;)

hehe... I have never had font probs with PS, but I have learned to keep the active fonts below, say, 350. A font managing program that can activate fonts when needed (AND makes them available for PhotoShop et all) is the best solution. I am not a font-a-holic. I could stop any day. Really. It just helps me relax. And then again, I know a lot of people who have as many fonts as I have. Some even more. But a lot of them are living on their own and eat bad too... OOPS, almost forgot: Happy New Year Everybody, by the way! (only the white text in the pic is Photoshop, the rest is Carrara 3, for who wonders. The fonts are from internet, as you might have guessed)
